Camp is this week. Only 2 more school days then we are off on our big classroom adventure.
A big thank you to all the families that brought in chips, biscuits and a bottle of juice. I would like to ask that families bring in their bag of fruit or bunch of bananas on Tuesday or Wednesday morning when we leave. This way I can ensure that the fruit is fresh.

The Olympics are up and running.
I bet this was a proud day for Nick Willis!!!
Wasn’t it amazing watching the Opening Ceremony? I bet it took a long time to learn the moves and practise.
I wonder what the above image is meant to show??? Any guesses?
New Zealand has finally featured on the medals chart, with our Equestrian Team winning bronze in the 3 day Team event!
We have many more medal hopefuls in events like the Rowing, where a number of our athletes have made it into semi-finals and our Black Sticks have only 1 more pool match and if they win will make the semi-finals also. That’s only to name a few, we have many more talented athletes whose events are yet to begin.
GO TEAM NEW ZEALAND!!!!

Make sure you read the new information in the ‘Camp’ section of our classroom Blog.
I will update this regularly as I get new information regarding camp.

WOW!!!! Where has this term gone?

It has been such a wonderful term it has been! I have enjoyed getting to know each of the students and working with them over the last term.

We have had a busy term with Interschool sports. Just over 70% of the class has taken part in this. They have all had A1 attitudes on the field or court and are really becoming team players. The term has also been busy the last few weeks with assessment. Students are making progress in all areas and the learning that has been going on is a real credit to your children.

Keep up the A1 attitudes towards learning guys!

For the remainder of this term and the beginning of next we are focussing on Fractions as this is a major need for the whole class.

In reading we are continuing with building on our reading strategies and developing our fluency. I am so proud of the children who are working hard to increase their reading ages by making sure they are doing their homework and are picking up a book and reading in their spare time.

We will continue our writing about personal experiences and looking at developing our bare bones (paragraphs). Children are working hard at the moment learning how to do this correctly.

Next term we see the Olympics starting in late July and ending on the 12thof August. We will be looking into the Olympics next term all that we can. Hopefully we even see our team winning a few gold medals!

We are busy fundraising for camp! Thank you to all the families who are putting in the hard yards to fundraise as much as they can for camp. Your hard work has not gone unrecognised. Anderson Pie orders will be going out on the 1stday back next term and are due back by the 27th July. This is an excellent fundraiser to earn a lot of $$$

I wish you all a safe and warm holidays. They have been well earnt and I look forward to seeing all your smiley faces on the first day back, the 16thJulyJ
